How much does delivery cost?

There are no hidden charges when buying from us.  At ReefX our delivery pricing is as simple as 1-2-FREE:

All our services will require a signature on delivery.  If you would like delivery for a specific day please mention it in the order notes at the time of ordering and we will be happy to hold onto your items to dispatch when it is more convenient for you.

Please note our Next Day courier service is subsidised by us and is for mainland UK only. Please contact us for a quote for Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland, Highlands, IOW or Channel Islands.

* The availability of the 1h time slot service is dependant on our delivery partner and we cannot guarantee that every order will provide it.

How long will delivery take?

In all cases we aim to dispatch your order within the timeframes mentioned above but please allow up to 7 days extra for delivery, and very occasionally longer during sale periods and Christmas where our couriers have more parcels to deliver.

If we know in advance that we will be unable to meet the timeframes mentioned above, or any forward date that you agree with us or mention in the order notes, we will aim to contact you at the earliest opportunity to ask how you want to proceed.

For bespoke orders we will contact you prior to commencing manufacture with an estimated delivery date.

If you wish to order for delivery outside of mainland UK please contact us.  We do not normally deliver outside of the UK but will do what we can to accommodate our customer’s needs where we can.

Saturday deliveries

Orders under £100 can select a Royal Mail Special Delivery (Saturday) delivery for £13.50.

For orders that require a courier a Saturday delivery can be selected for £25.

Note that for orders under £100 our free delivery and Royal Mail 1st class services will often deliver on a Saturday for no extra charge, however we cannot guarantee the delivery.

Very large deliveries

If your order comes to more than 150kg then it cannot be sent with our normal delivery partners.  Very large deliveries will either be sent via a specialist courier or via a pallet network, both on a 1-3 day service.

We heavily subsidise large delivery costs to keep the premiums as low as possible.  Over 150kg and up to 1 tonne will cost £50.  Deliveries greater than 1 tonne are charged at a rate of 6p per kg.

Due to the excessive costs we pay we cannot offer free delivery with very large deliveries.

Cancellation of order before delivery

We understand that sometimes you change your mind and may want to cancel your order. Cancellations for stock (or backordered stock items) can be carried out any time prior to receiving a dispatch email from us. Please contact us to let us know.  If your order is due to be dispatched via a next day service please contact us by phone to ensure it does not get shipped.

Bespoke items can only be cancelled if their manufacture has not yet started, but even if we have started production of your order we will, at our discretion, do what we can to limit your costs to just the costs we have incurred up to that point.

Refunds and exchanges of unwanted orders

We are happy to offer a full refund or exchange on any order or individual item you are not 100% satisfied with within 14 days of receipt. We will only accept unwanted returned items in their original condition, unused and with all the original packaging. We regret we cannot accept returns for bespoke items.

How to return an unwanted order

Items must be securely packaged, ideally in the original shipping materials.  Please contact us to discuss your return before sending anything.  In some cases we may ask you to post the item back to us, or we may arrange to have it collected from you, so it is important to contact us first.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your item. When the return is approved your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 7-10 days, or in many cases sooner.

Damaged or faulty items / Warranty returns

Should you find you have an item that is damaged or faulty in any way, we will exchange or refund it if returned within 30 days of the date of delivery or collection.  Some products may be sold with a longer warranty period, for example many of our reactors are sold with a 12 month or 2 year warranty as standard, and some products may be warranted for up to 5 years.  Extended warranty terms will be clearly displayed to you as part of the sale process.

In all cases please contact us before returning anything so we can determine if it may be possible to just replace a part of an item before returning an item to us.  Sometimes it will be quicker for us to send you a replacement part, but occasionally an item will need to be exchanged.  We will discuss this with you when you report the fault to us.
