PO4 Remover

Reef-safe liquid phosphate remover.

A reef-safe liquid binder that uses lanthanum chloride to lower phosphate levels. The bound phosphate can then be easily removed with filtration or a skimmer. ReefX® PO4 Remover reacts instantly with ionic and bound phosphate in the aquarium water to produce lanthanum phosphate, which precipitates out of the water allowing it to be removed with a filter media (such as a filter sock or roll) or with a protein skimmer.

Usage instructions

It is important not to remove all the phosphate in an aquarium as low levels are required for biological functions, or to remove high levels too rapidly. The reaction is instant and will remove all available phosphate in the immediate volume of water where it is added. This means you are treating the volume of water in your sump or filter sock, and not the entire aquarium at once. By repeating the dosage over a period of time in a high flow area the overall phosphate levels in the aquarium water will safely be reduced.

DO NOT dose directly into the main aquarium. Ideally dose directly into a filter sock or similar in a high flow area of the sump. Alternative dose immediately prior to a protein skimmer intake. Dose according to the table below, spread evenly over one day in 1ml doses. 1 drop = 1ml. DO NOT overdose.
