Mixing, storage and dosing instructions

Mix 100g with 180ml of RO water to produce a liquid buffer solution that can be added to a reef aquarium to raise or maintain the calcium level. Add powder to water slowly and mix or shake to dissolve. DO NOT add powder directly to the aquarium as the initial reaction generates heat. The dissolved liquid solution is easy to dose by hand or with automatic pumps. If the liquid is stored open to the air evaporation will occur, increasing the concentration and can allow powder to settle out of solution. If this occurs replace the evaporate losses with RO and remix. To avoid this happening, it is recommended to only produce enough solution for 4 weeks of use at a time. 1kg makes 1.8 litres of solution.

18ml solution/100 litres raises calcium by 36ppm Ca
Approximately 0.5ml solution/100 litres raises calcium by 1ppm Ca
Do not raise levels by more than 20ppm Ca per day in an established reef aquarium. Add in a high flow area such as a weir or sump. If magnesium levels also need adjusting then adjust those first.

Storage and dosing instructions

The liquid solution is easy to dose by hand or with automatic pumps and can be stored indefinitely between 10°C and 30°C in a closed container. If the liquid is stored open to the air then evaporation will occur, increasing the concentration which can allow powder to settle out of solution. If this occurs replace the evaporated losses with RO and remix by stirring or shaking.

1ml solution/100 litres raises calcium by 2ppm Ca
